We hired our first in-house data analyst, Dylan Garcie, to identify and present the trends and patterns within our continuously growing database on honey bees. 

We developed proprietary software to process and analyze genomic sequencing data, making it easier and faster to analyze species present in honey samples, bacteria samples, and fungal samples at scale.

We’ve started looking into what specific plants that bees pollinate, and we’re creating the preliminary list to review with plant ecologists and professors at Ithaca college.

Meeting with Ithaca college today to discuss the key plants that sequester carbon on as we continue the research. We learned that we should focus on annual plants.

We are now meeting with various companies in the carbon research community to better understand their carbon goals. This will provide a guide for how we can illustrate the relationship between bees and carbon sequestering plants.

We sent our first HoneyDNA sample into the lab — excited to see exactly what species of plants the bees pollinated to make this honey!
